Maria Montessori spoke about the sensitive periods as the time when the child is especially receptive to certain aspects of the environment:
"A sensitive period refers to a special sensibility which a creature acquires in its infantile state, while it is still in the process of evolution. It is a transient disposition and limited to the acquisition of a particular trait. Once this trait, or characteristic, has been acquired, the special sensibility disappears."
- Maria Montessori, The Secret of Childhood, Ch. 7

Expecting a baby is a special time for every family. Drawing an analogy with the development of the child, we can say that in the life of parents-to-be there is a sensitive period for parenthood. We become especially sensitive to everything related to pregnancy, childbirth, babies and the "child" topic in general. We begin to notice how many pregnant women are around, or we intently begin to observe the children and parents we encounter. We make decisions about what kind of parents we want to be.

To familiarize yourself with our approach, we share with you the lecture "Healthy and happy mom = healthy baby", which Valentina recorded in November 2019 for the course.

In this session, we talked about how a mother can learn to take care of herself during pregnancy or even at the stage of preparation for pregnancy, so that these skills remain with her after the birth of the baby and are passed on to the baby.
*English subtitles will be available soon: check back in January 2021!

You can choose to purchase a recording of a separate lecture in Russian with subtitles (worth 2,000 rubles for each session) or purchase a set of 5 recordings (worth 7,000 rubles).
